Wedding Shower

One of my very best friends is getting married! Jess Nielsen is getting married to Mike Beach August 15th! It's a little crazy for me to grasp the idea that we are old enough to have that happening!
I called Jess the other day to ask for updates on her life and see how she was doing. As we were talking I asked her if I was able to go to the temple to see her when she got married. She then told me I was dumb and that I better be there. Well, through the conversation we talked about how the best friend was the one to throw a bridal shower! And me being the best friend, I am now planning on throwing one for her this summer.
So pretty much I don't really know what I am doing. I know the general ideas! But if you have seen anything you really liked that you would suggest... or anything that you really don't like! So...I am open for suggestions!

You could do it at our clubhouse, but I imagine everyone coming will be from Spanish Fork. Let me know. It will be fun!

I know I personally (as a guest and the bride) like to have themed gifts - it makes it so much more fun (and easier to decide).
You can do the typical fill the pantry. Or you could assign guest different rooms in the house and have Jess give you her colors. I have also seen times of day. You could be creative and come up with any number of fun themes.
How fun! I can help you if you want - cuz I'll be HOME! :)

If you want to go all out you can do a fun game that involves asking the groom-to-be questions and then ask the bride-to-be the same questions and have her see if she can guess his answers. Either that or ask her questions about him to see how well she knows him. If you want to make it more challenging you can have some gum near by and for every answer she gets wrong she has to put a piece in her mouth, and for every answer she gets right she gets a present (but that can get expensive) or you can just do the punishment. It's funny to watch them get one after another wrong and then watch them try to talk with all that gum in their mouth!

Anyways, that was the funniest bridal shower I went to. Although, I have just liked bridal showers where there was just food, gift exchanges, and fun girly talk about things to come. ;) But it's also nice to get to know the man she's going to marry, so a game like that would work to acheive that. Good luck!!! I, too, will help if you want.

This sounds like fun! You know Betsy's idea was used at my shower. I still have the video which is quite entertaining now to watch. (They video taped themselves askeing Todd questions and he gave his answers. So for the party they paused the video after each question so I could give the answer and then unpaused to see what he said.)

Hey thanks for the responses! I am pretty sure I am going to do the themed wedding shower. My roommate gave me the idea to do a Movie themed one. (ex. one guest has the movie Alice and wonderland. instead getting specific things to that movie you get a gift that pertains to that. Like dishes or tea things. :)
I also like the idea of doing the questions. I thought about doing a movie but he is going to be gone through the whole summer so we don't have that option!
